Play Hushnook free online
Hushnook is a free online point-and-click mystery set in a lamp-lit dollhouse at night. Tap props, collect and combine items, read clue notes, and crack dial, search and slide locks to leave each room. A case has two rooms and one night clock. It plays in the browser on phone or computer, with no sign-in. Three short cases offer six rooms in total, so there is plenty to explore without a long commitment.
How to play Hushnook
- Every room is a lit cutaway with props to tap. Tap a prop to look, take an item or write down a clue. Tap an item in your pack (six slots) and then a prop, or drag the item onto it, to use it. Drag one item onto another to combine them, like a magnet and a string.
- Locks open a close-up: a dial with one wheel per clue (the picture over each wheel is the clue it belongs to), a heap to search for the listed things, or a sliding puzzle with a goal picture. The exit prop takes the last step and opens the way to the next room. A case is two rooms.
- One night clock runs for the whole case; faster rooms and rooms without a hint score more. HINT rings the next move: 2 free per case. Your progress is saved after every room.
Hushnook tips
- Tap every prop first, since a single line or clue note often explains what to do next.
- Combine items in your pack, for example a magnet with string, before trying them on props.
- Clue notes are never lost, so use their pictures to set the dial wheels in order.
Hushnook questions
- Can I lose an item for good?
- No. An item is used up only where it belongs, and a wrong try just makes the prop flash red. Every room has been checked by a solver: from any point you can still get out.
- How do I know the code of a lock?
- Tap the props around the room: each clue goes into the strip above the room, and the pictures over the dial wheels match the clues. Read them in the same order as the wheels.
- How long does a game last?
- A case takes about five to eight minutes for a new player, one to two for a fast one. It ends when both rooms are open or the night clock runs out; you can resume a case from its last cleared room.
