Play Latchwit free online
Latchwit is a free online escape-room game made of twelve paper doors. Each door has one small trick, like spotting the odd one out, holding still, waiting, or swiping the other way, and one shared clock runs the whole escape. Open doors quickly and cleanly to refill the clock. It plays in the browser on phone or computer, with no sign-in. Twelve doors make a run, and a streak of clean doors raises your score multiplier.
How to play Latchwit
- Every paper door hides one small trick. Read the tag under the door, then tap, drag, hold, wait or swipe on the room to open it. There are 26 kinds of tricks, from spotting the odd one out to following the ball under the cups.
- One escape clock runs for the whole game. Every opened door gives time back, faster doors give more, and a wrong move costs 3 seconds. A door fails after 3 slips or 28 seconds and costs one of your 3 keys. Open all 12 doors to escape. Doors in a row without a slip raise your score.
- HINT puts a glowing ring on the key spot: 2 free per game. More trick packs open as you escape more doors.
Latchwit tips
- Read the paper tag under each door first, since it names the trick in a few words.
- Open doors without a slip to grow your multiplier, since a mistake resets it.
- Do not linger, because each door refills more time the faster you open it.
Latchwit questions
- What does a wrong move do?
- It costs 3 seconds on the clock and shakes the room. The third slip on one door fails the door and costs one key; the door is replaced by a different one.
- Why is nothing happening on my door?
- Some tricks need patience or a hold: wait for the bar to fill, or keep your finger on the knob. Read the tag, or press HINT to see where to act.
- How long does a game last?
- Usually one to four minutes. It ends when all 12 doors are open, the clock runs out, or the third key is gone.
