Play Hedgelight free online
Hedgelight is a free online maze puzzle played in a night garden. A hedgehog keeper carries a lantern from the bottom of a hedge maze toward the garden gate, with only the lit corridors visible. Oil is limited, but fireflies in dead ends add more. It plays in the browser on phone or computer, with no sign-in, and mazes grow larger each time. Pale moonlight shows the gate from a distance, so you can head toward it even in the dark.
How to play Hedgelight
- Press and drag anywhere on the screen to walk: the way you drag is the way you go. A quick swipe sends you on along the path until the next junction.
- You only see what your lantern lights. Hedges block the light, but paths you have seen stay on your map. Find the garden gate to clear the maze.
- The lamp oil is your clock. Fireflies in dead ends add oil, every gate adds more, and the lamp dims when the oil runs low. HINT lights the shortest way, 2 free per run.
Hedgelight tips
- Prefer the corridors that look like they lead toward the pale moon glow of the gate.
- Detour into a dead end only when a firefly is there, since each one adds three seconds of oil.
- Flick quickly to run round bends and stop at junctions, which saves time in long corridors.
Hedgelight questions
- Can I get lost for good?
- No. Every maze has a way to the gate. The paths you have already seen stay on the map, and a hint lights the shortest way from where you stand.
- Are the mazes always the same?
- No. Each run builds new mazes, bigger and with more loops as you go, while the lamp reaches a little less far.
- Where does a new run start?
- Your furthest maze is saved. Every fifth maze is a checkpoint you can pick on the title screen.
