Play Stitch Trail free online
Stitch Trail is a free online one-stroke puzzle on a linen patch. Buttons are joined by dashed guide lines, and you must sew every line exactly once with a single unbroken thread, starting from any knot. Patterns get busier as you go. It runs in the browser on phone or computer, with no sign-in, and a shared time bank limits each run. Patterns come in blocks of ten, and each pattern changes the thread colour.
How to play Stitch Trail
- A pattern is a few buttons joined by dashed lines. Drag from button to button, or tap the next one, to stitch every line exactly once with one unbroken thread.
- Stuck? UNDO takes back the last line and RESET takes the whole thread off. Both are free, but each is a slip: no slips is 3 stars, 1 or 2 is 2 stars, more is 1 star.
- Every cleared pattern adds time to your bank, more for long patterns and 3 stars. When the bank is empty the run is over. HINT shows the next button, 2 free per run.
Stitch Trail tips
- Count the lines at each knot, since knots with an odd count are where the thread must start or end.
- Use undo to take back the last line instead of resetting the whole thread.
- If you see STUCK, step back a few lines and try the other way around a loop.
Stitch Trail questions
- Where do I start the thread?
- A button with an odd number of lines is a start or an end. If two buttons are odd, start on one of them. If none is, any button works and you finish where you began.
- Can I go over a line twice?
- No. Each line can be stitched once. If the thread is stuck with lines left, undo back until you find another way.
- Where does a new run start?
- Your furthest pattern is saved. A new run starts at the first pattern of its block of ten (1, 11, 21 and so on).
